I've never noticed any strong traditional gender roles in the scene. I don't see any dominant behaviour in the clubs. People are also more experimental in their appearance crossing traditional gener boundaries. I've never seen any sign of macho/chauvinistic (traditional male values) branches if anything it's better than that with people being more respectful of each other and not treating women like meat in a market. Goths are usually non-violent so again you just don't find traditional gender roles the same in the goth scene as you do among chavs and other groups.

I don't think either sex is more dominant when it comes to shaping the culture. Websites are maintained by both men and women. You find there are male and female djs in the clubs. Men and women run events such as gigs, festivals, stalls and club nights. There isn't a dominance from either side really.
