indaviduality and self expression are a part of who we growing up teaches us that to be ourselves is more important than who outhers say we should be.

: As a young goth I have to say I
: understand the pain first and second
: generation goths are feeling. I'm in my mid
: teens and whats considered gothic at my
: school is usually the metalheads drug
: addicts not gothic types. Its because they
: wear black and those tripp pants. Theres
: even a kid who calls himself satanist
: (although he doesn't believe in god) and
: goth who walks around in tripp pants and
: pisses off everybody. He says he worships
: satan and is gothic...i'd classify him as a
: jerk. I hate that i'm going to be grouped
: with people like him, and that nobody
: appreciates what i'm about. People always
: seem suprised when I do something nice or
: wear more preppy clothes. Moms stare at me
: like i'm going to feed on their young! I've
: fallen into a subculture that no longer
    : accepts me. I think i'm goth....but now I
: call myself alternative...just to get away
: from the stereotypes. I mourn where this
    : culture is going.
