I think the biggest offense people took to him was when they were taking him so seriously. Man, it's just music, he's going to promote the things that piss the establishment off, make a load of cash and entertain some folks.

Pretty standard shock rocker, but you have to admit that he did rather set the bar a bit higher on that front.
