The old members. They were getting too wound up and obsessed with petty rules. New members were being put down and told off every turn they made for making 'mistakes' and so they stopped returning. The board became stale as the rules stifled and inhibited discussions so there was nothing left that was allowed to be talked about. A condescending attitude also grew increasingly dominant and just made it an unfriendly place rather than a place people could go to for answers or advice.
