In response to Skippy, Posted by Vashti on 9/30/2009, 9:07 am, in reply to "Re: well then..." 69.141.59.21 it changed my life because i found it during a very formative time in my early twenties, and also during a 3 month long illness i had which kept me house-bound and bed-ridden (i guess that would go together naturally). first, i grew up in a very strict christian household, and when i found this place, i was searching and sifting through many religions and practices...trying different things and weighing what i had been taught with new thoughts and philosophies. Rogue- a close relation of Tass's- became one of my closest friends over that time and we shared many hours of online chat about life, gods or lack thereof, and what it all means. secondly, i found a lot of confidence here as a result. in my teenage years, i was that awkward, dorky, far-too-intense girl who "threw" people with my ill-fitting statements and observations. through this board, i found people who listened --even when they didn't agree, and who challenged me in a way that my real-life friends did not. today, i don't really look goth -except for a few stereotypical symbols like black eyeliner(ha)and i don't spend a lot of time with people who associate with "gothdom" (so to speak)... but the things we talked about here, the general acceptance of everyone just the way they are, the spiritual connection (if you will) with these people... it has stayed with me, strongly. --Previous Message-- : Hi, : : I am new to the board but not to gothdom ... : A number of people have stated that this : board changed their life.
