    Vashti,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate your energy and honesty.

Totally could relate to your statement "i was that awkward, dorky, far-too-intense girl who "threw" people with my ill-fitting statements and observations" ...

While I"m not a girl the rest of that statement describes me also. What always amazes me about the comments or observations that come out of my mouth is other people's reactions. They truly don't know what to do with the statements but to me those observations seem perfectly natural and normal .. I just don't see the world like most people. I'm sure that is true for many of us who fit into this world.

Over the years I've learned to keep my mouth shut when around "normal" people but the internal dialog runs constantly. Can't help how I see the world LOL

Thank you for sharing your story.

: it changed my life because i found it during a
: very formative time in my early twenties,
: and also during a 3 month long illness i had
    : which kept me house-bound and bed-ridden (i
: guess that would go together naturally).
: first, i grew up in a very strict christian
: household, and when i found this place, i
: was searching and sifting through many
    : religions and practices...trying different
: things and weighing what i had been taught
: with new thoughts and philosophies. Rogue- a
: close relation of Tass's- became one of my
: closest friends over that time and we shared
: many hours of online chat about life, gods
: or lack thereof, and what it all means.
: secondly, i found a lot of confidence here
: as a result. in my teenage years, i was that
: awkward, dorky, far-too-intense girl who
: "threw" people with my ill-fitting
: statements and observations. through this
: board, i found people who listened --even
: when they didn't agree, and who challenged
: me in a way that my real-life friends did
    : not.
    :
: today, i don't really look goth -except for
: a few stereotypical symbols like black
    : eyeliner(ha)and i don't spend a lot of time
: with people who associate with
: "gothdom" (so to speak)... but the
: things we talked about here, the general
: acceptance of everyone just the way they
: are, the spiritual connection (if you will)
: with these people... it has stayed with me,
    : strongly.

: because of a reminder from a dear old friend
: from this board, i decided to drop by to say
: hello and see who is still around.... tass?
: good to see you're still posting... old
: grey- thanks for the reminder... and there
: are a few others whose names i recognize.
: i've missed you all. really and truly. rogue
: and i kept in contact for a long time after
    : i stopped posting, and JPS and i (i don't
: even remember what his name was on here...
: wow) had an interesting relationship for a
    : couple of years afterward.
    :
: this board changed my life. honestly. how
    : funny is that?
    :
: so....how is everyone? lovely to see you
: all, and i hope to see more of you...
