    Thanks for the informative post, Tass. I've been watching this question for a few days, not wanting to be the first to respond.

    I have to say that describing music (tonal sounds) with nothing but language can be problematic. Just try, for example, to tell in words alone where mellow, languid, and ethereal respectively begin, overlap or end.

    This is especially true of "gothic music" whatever that may mean, because of the sheer variety of styles.

    For myself, I still prefer to think of the soft folk/rock poetry of Simon and Garfunkel can be as gothic as any band named so far.
