Lisa, I am glad that you received an answer here, as this board is not as active as in the past. And from Alicia, no less! You should feel honored.
I have been posting here more or less regularly since 2000 or -1, not as a goth, but as one long interested in gothic art and literature. The modern goth subculture grew out of a particular musical genre from the late 1970s, and I was never part of that scene.
Nevertheless, I made several friends on this board, some as young as 13 when we first "met" here. I should say that I am 60 now. Some of these friendships still exist, and I daresay all of them would if I were a better correspondant.
Rest assured: if your granddaughter turns out half as well as some of the goths I've had the pleasure to watch grow into adulthood, she will be fine and you will be proud of her.
