Yes I'm sure if you are Gothic, and you belong to a cult then gothic culters do exist; however, you may be asking if there is a present day Gothic Culture, to which the answer your teacher gave you is true. Goths are part of a "subculture," but perhaps your teacher was correcting your spelling. ;)
