You can generally help you iguanas by offering watery fruits or a watered down piece of wheat bread every so often. No matter what we do - we cannot get our climate to be what their natural environment is.. We can spray them down, soak them in the tub, put water tubs in their cages - we should all be doing as much of these options as possible both to protect their kidneys and help their skin.
Closed enclosures are best off if you live further north of the border/have dry air. Use a humidifier in the cage. You can use a warm mist humidifier but you must put a screening around this (a strong screen) or the iguana will get thermal burns - or a cool mist. I designed a cage that had a sprinkler system that came on and off however finding a timing device that only comes on for SECONDS is a real chore - I lost mine and I cannot find a new one so I cannot even turn my own water system back on in that cage.... Recently I've been exploring the art of google and there is a few pages I am looking at example - http://www.mistking.com there's quite a few solutions out there that offer permanent solutions to dehydration issues. Many of which do require a closed in enclosure and a little bit of plumbing knowledge.. much of which you can probably go to a local plumbing store and get I would imagine.
