Well, I was a nervous mom and brought Inca to the vet today. After the yellow in the urates last week and no urates for two days this week, I was nervous that she might be dehydrated (hence my posts here). Iguanas are new to us so we just weren't sure. I also find there's less info available on igs than on our bearded dragon. This site is helpful, but I haven't been able to find an older archive of posts beyond a few months.
Anyway, they said Inca looks great and we're doing very well with her. She's close to 700 grams, which is 200 more than she was in mid-August. She's definitely growing. She's gone through two full sheds since August and is starting a third.
The vet allayed my concerns about her hydration since Inca looks good--vibrant color, skin is good, she's eating, etc. She said she'd much rather we bring her in before there's a problem than when it's too late like most people.
We got a few tips for her new enclosure which we're working on.
Inca was NOT happy at the vet, and she almost landed on the floor. She is a squirmy lizard! She's been fine since we got home (I was worried she'd be mad at me).
She's licking her walls. When her fogger came on, she perked up, and walked around licking the air. I think she's catching the fog. She looks like a kid catching snowflakes. :-)
So, I think we're ok for now, but we have to get her in her big house. We have to finish the windows, doors, interior shelves, and seal everything. I'm guessing it'll still be a few weeks.
Thanks for the support and help!
