As I get closer to being ready to get an iguana I'm starting to take serious considerations into habitats. Rather then buying a small tank only to replace it right away and to keep following that cycle I'm considering buying something large enough to contain an adult and to just use that and not have to worry about habitats from there on. Would this work?
With that in mind I've been shopping for any habitats out there I could use but with little luck. 95% are too small and most of the others are just far too expensive. I would make my own but I don't expect to have an easy way to do that where I'll be living. I just found one though that is a reasonable price, $1300, and seems to be a good size too, 60" high x 60" wide x 36" deep. I wanted to find one that was 72" high but they were all 48" wide which seemed a bit narrow for a potentially 6 foot long lizard. It would seem more likely to me that, if laying on the floor level, the iguana would extend out quite a bit, more than if it were laying up on a high shelf. So perhaps sacrificing a little bit of height for width would be better?
To get both, 72" height and more width which the next up is 96" wide, that would add another $1000 which feels a bit much.. :/
Suggestions?
