Hmm.. Interesting, and informative! :D
What do you mean by "in a hurry"? Because I'm looking at a timeframe of about... 1-3 months.
I also see you suggest against sliding doors however really just for space constraints I have a good feeling sliding would be much more convenient for me. Maximizes access space while minimizing floorspace consumption while open. But hardly a big deal either way for me.
So yea, what you suggest sounds like a great and cheaper alternative for sure!
