It's hard to say regarding how much time it takes. It varies. As I said, think of it like taming a wild bird or squirrel. They are not bred already domesticated like cats or dogs.

Part of it depends upon his temperament, part on what happened to him before you got him, and part on your interactions with him. I also have a male who just undid all my taming by going through an intense breeding season.
