traveling with my iguana

I am going to Texas for an extended visit. It takes 8-9 hours to get to my destination. How will that affect my iguana if I take him with me. I am not certain of the environment he will live in yet, so it is still in the planning stages. I seek wisdom! One concern is the heating access while in the back of my van. He would travel in a 30 gallon tank. My iguana is almost one year old. Any suggestions?
