You could take his whole setup with you if you are staying the summer or more than 2 weeks. Since he's a youngster, he should travel better than an old grumpy iggy. although my iggy of 14 years was happy enough if "mommy" was holding him with his blankey around him. He was pretty sweet.
Let us know how it goes. The sack or duffel should work fine. Just remember to mist, feed and clean poo.
