They have different personalities for sure. I have two males. One I can do about anything to, I pick him up and he doesn't scratch or anything. I carry him outside to sun on the deck and he doesn't try to escape, in fact he scratches at the door to come in when he is done basking. My other one is my wild child. I did not expect him to live when I rescued him and just tried to make him as comfortable as possible. He doesn't care for any interaction. He doesn't try to attack or anything and seems to enjoy watching me but I don't have the trust that I have with the other one. Most iguanas aren't that affectionate. I love both of them and respect the differences. Sounds like you give him a good home. He may not be as lucky with someone else. Good luck no matter what you decide to do.
