I did a search for "samantha" on all 4 historic pages on this message board (dating back to December 2011) and I don't see a post with your name. If you posted under a different name, or can provide a link to where the alleged bad lighting advice was given, please let us know.
That said, advice given by others does not trump one's own common sense. There are non-light sources of heat that should be provided at night, if the temperature of the surroundings is not adequate. Is your iguana inside or kept outside? Are you sure your iguana is dead and not just very cold/not moving?
