I have had my red iguana for about 2 years now. I have read pages upon pages about taming and handling and nothing works with him. It is EXTREMELY frustrating because I love him to death and it would just be really amazing if he didnt try to eat me when I try to hold or touch him. My question is... when I go to feed him and bring his bowl into his cage, he runs down and before I can even set the bowl down he puts his hands on the bowl while I am holding it and he will eat from the bowl while still in my hand. When I set the bowl down and go to move my hand away he stops eating and tries to bite me. He really does not seem scared of me. I can also open both his cage doors and sit there and clean his cage thoroughly without him trying to leave or even being aggressive... but anytime I try to touch or hold him (again, I have read so much about taming and he is a menace!), he freaks out, tail whips me, even has lunged towards me and bit me. I just don't know what to do. He doesn't seem scared, what is the issue? Is it him having power over me? Any advise or insight is greatly appreciated.
