I highly recommend using a quality primer on all wood, inside and out. I use KilzII, which will help in the prevention of mold and mildew.
Then, use a paint which would be used in high humidity areas such as a bathroom. The paint guy at the store will know what to recommend.
You don't need the best, but don't go super cheap either. You don't want to have to redo it all in just a couple years.
Stick on tile squares work fine for flooring, and the rubber (plastic) coated metal closet shelving you can get at Home Depot works great for iguana enclosures.
