Hello everyone! I just recently adopted a young iguana(6 months) from terrible conditions. His enclosure was an old bookcase that was filled with roaches and mites. All he had to eat was moldy iceberg lettuce and he was in bad shape. I convinced my husband to let me get him. We took him to an exotic vet and while he is underweight, he has no long term damage. I got him Mustard greens, turnip greens, collard greens, green beans, okra, acorn squash, butternut squash, mango, and papaya and diced them up and mixed them into little baggies for his food, so were good there. My husband built him a gorgeous cage, its 6x4x4 so he has room to grow. He has vines and several plants to climb as well as a hammock and branches. He has a heat lamp and UVA//UVB lamp. The only problem is my husband is cheap...and we are going to be getting a plexiglass door in the next few months but for now its just a screen. Im concerned about his heat and humidity being too low because its so open. Can anyone give me any advice for how to help him?
