Iguana turning brown only when it's put in it's enclosure

I've got a 5-6 month old iguana who seems all around healthy. It eats, poops, and grows as it should. Within the last couple of days it's color down it's spine and on it's head has started to turn brown. I took it out today and set up a basking spot while we deep cleaned the enclosure and it seemed to turn back to its normal color. When we put it back in the enclosure it changed back to the brown color even worse than before. Now it's back out basking and it's normal color again. At this point we don't know what to do since being in the enclosure is obviously the stressor for it. It can't free roam yet because it is still small and we have cats. Any tips on making the little guy happier in it's enclosure would be super appreciated. It's got a large area, good heat and humidity and things to climb on and hide away in. I also don't think it's sick.
