We may go too far on the topic of UVB-needing reptiles.

We say in sweeping terms, that insectivorous and carnivorous lizards do not need UVB because they get exogenous Vit.D from their prey. That may be too broad a statement. They might also need other products made from UVB hitting the skin.
I got it from the East Bay Vivarium in Berkely, CA, that even though alligator lizards eat insects, they still need UVB in part of their viv.
So for me at least, after that conversation, any lizard I get will have UVB just in case.
