I have a young iguana. I got him for Christmas from my grandmother. He moves around just fine and he's very active. He's still very skittish, but I'm doing my best to take it slow and tame him. I've noticed that on his back, he has these little black dots all over the place. They're not mites because they're always in the same spot and they've never moved. Also, he doesn't shed them off like he would if they WERE mites. I've also bleached his tank and clean it regularly and I haven't seen any mites. It looks like they're just missing scales when I look up close. I got him from a pet store in my area, and my cousins got 2 iguanas from the same place at the same time. They have the speckles too, just not as many. I was thinking it could be a fungal infection, maybe? I'll put a pic with this so whoever answers can see them... If they are a fungal infection, could somebody give me any tips on what to do for it? I am a new iguana owner, and I treat him like my baby. I may just be freaking out or nothing, but you tell me. Thanks!
