I've been doing extensive research on iguanas for the last few weeks and am debating on getting my first one. I work for a cat and dog rescue, and recently a man brought in a 9 month old iguana he was looking to rehome due to it biting him and him not having the time to tame it. The man purchased the iguana from a pet store and was told the iguana is a male. He stated he could occasionally hold and pick the pet up but otherwise was not trained. I am prepared to spend the time to tame the iguana but am slightly nervous due to the attack stories I have heard. A friend of mine owns a reptile sanctuary and warned me that they are incredibly aggressive animals and there's no such thing as a loving iguana. Before taking on this big responsibility, I wanted to see if anyone had any tips regarding behavior and not being mauled.
