Hi everyone! I've never had to reach out for reptile assistance before, but my new 6 month old iguana seems to have issue after issue. The previous Ig's I owned were always free roaming so I have never dealt with an enclosure before. I have the 18x18x32 Zoomed Reptibreeze open air aluminum screen cage. It stays at 90 during the day and 70 at night. I have a stand in the cage with a cat bed on top for basking but Matilda never seems to want to be up on it. When I first got her, I was constantly holding her with no fight from her. Lately, she is very stressed out & violently runs around when I reach in for her. She has ripped out about 4 nails from violently climbing up and down the cage so fast. They do not seem infected & she does not seem to be bothered by it. I noticed we had an ant issue last week, I have since moved her location and haven't had a problem since. Now, the issue is nose rubbing. I have never had an ig who does this. When I come home from work, the front of her nose and mouth are rubbed raw. She eats & poops good. She eats watercress every day with green beans, parsnips and a fruit. I hope she is not suffering with her nails ripped out & the wounds on the front of her face. The only thing I can think that may be stressing her out is our dog who is a barker, and she may bark a lot during the day. I try to handle Matilda every day, she does not seemed stressed when I hold her and has not tried to whip or bite me. I have only had her for about a month. I am at a loss for what to do to keep her from continuing to rub her nose, and I am also worried about her nails, it seems every day she loses another one. Any advice will be comforting!
