I'm totally new to this board, just kinda hoping someone can help me out here?
I'm not new to iguana care,.. but, I am currently having issues with my 11 year old female.
I cared for a male several years ago, I raised him from a hatchling until he was 5 yrs old ,then my significant other and I split up and he went with her.
I then purchased a female (hatchling) which has been in my care for the past 11 yrs.
She has never been the 'friendliest' of creatures, but, she has never really caused me any grief,.. Until now!
She was about 5 yrs old when she laid her 1st batch of eggs (yes I was ignorant to the fact at the time)! but , the next year I made sure I was prepared, she has a very adequate cage, I made her a nesting box out of a garbage can filled with top soil, which she utilized successfully for the next 2 yrs.
She has not become gravid or laid eggs since!? (about 3 yrs now)!
Just recently, she lunged at me and bit my arm while I was reaching for her food bowl, now every time I even go near her cage she gives me the 'Head bob' (which she has Never done before)!
She has a kitty litter box in the bottom of her cage (which she uses faithfully) , but now I have to push her back with the 'scooper' every time I fill her water bowl or take her food bowl to refill it! (if I don't, she WILL attack me)!
Not quite sure what's going on here?...
Any advise or feed back would much appreciated.
