I just recently this past Saturday purchased a baby blue Iguana from Petco (not my ideal spot to buy an animal but they had blue iguanas that I could not pass up). I'm not a new reptile owner. I have a bearded dragon who is almost 3 years old. We have a great relationship and she is very healthy. However, the topical aspect new to me. I have a great set up for my new little guy/girl. I've done tons of research (thanks to this website). It's environment, food, and heating/ lighting system is appropriate for it. Also, the humidity which is new for me, is at the appropriate temp. However, I do not think it has eaten a single thing since Saturday. Every morning when I give it new food it looks like he hasn't ate a single piece. I have been chopping up the veggies and fruit into very small pieces. But he is still active which is a good thing and does not really shoe interest in the hide box that I provided in its environment. It will not let me hold him/her. It tail whipped my hand, ran, and jump around it cage. I don't want to add more stress to it by trying to hand feed him since he puts up such a fight the only two times (one on Sat. placing in the cage and one time on Sunday trying to feed it) I held him/her. Since, Sunday morning I have let it remain in it's cage. The only interactions I have with it is misting the environment making sure the moss is wet its log and in the moss bowl, placing food in the cage, and replacing the water. Maybe I am just over thinking it but I am stressed and am scared this little guy will not make if it does not eat soon. Any suggestions on what to do?
