Hi! I am a high school science teacher and I am looking to get a class pet. I have always been interested in getting an iguana and have done lots of research but am unsure of the decision. I know that iguanas and cause injury with their tail whips and can bite and that makes administration nervous. From what I understand, iguanas can be great pets as long as the owner handles them very regularly and understands their body language very well. I would want to get the iguana as a baby and give it plenty of love and attention, a proper large habitat and lots of good fruits and veggies. I would also not allow students to access the iguana on their own ever. And contact would be very regulated by myself. Any advice would be mug appreciated. Is this a terrible idea or do you think it would work?
