Not sure of her exact age when I brought her home to live with me. She was about 8 inches long from tip of nose to tip of tail. Her enclosure is custom built and takes up an entire wall in my apartment. Photo period, lighting, and humidity all good. She ate like a champ and crapped all the time. She never hid in her hide box and was relatively tame. She was even well behaved enough to allow her to roam freely about my apartment for an hour or so a day.
2 months later I moved from Texas to Florida. She was a bit cranky about the 12 hour car ride for a week or two but seemed ok overall. 2 months after that I went on a 10 day trip to D.C. and my room mate took care of her. When I returned- She was insane. She used to be fine around my room mate but now she hisses, snaps, and tail whips him. She is suddenly not okay with the dog who, prior to the trip, was her buddy. She is no longer potty trained and seems to purposely go outside of the water bowl whenever possible. Her eating habits have changed and she goes bat crap crazy when I have to do anything in her enclosure. The only time she seems ok is when she is out in the apartment and no one is touching her...or looking at her. So I guess my question is...What the heck?
She does not appear physically ill. She will eat if I leave food on the living room floor and leave the room. She is well hydrated from regular baths and she is definitely still crapping everywhere, and the hostility craps look normal. Aside from being mid shed, there is absolutely nothing wrong with her. Room mate said nothing happened while I was gone. No falls, unusual apartment activity, etc. Strange behavior started a day or so after I left for no apparent reason. Due to the behavior he was unable to allow her out of the enclosure for any extended period of time.
What the heck is wrong with my iguana?
