That's only with tame iguanas.

Since iguanas are so territorial, and their cages are seldom big enough (an 8'X10' bedroom for an adult), they get hyper-territorial over their in-cage territory.
When you reach into a tame ig's hab, often they react by rejecting it with force. Once out of the hab, they are in neutral territory and usually calm down.
But an untame or a very young ig is almost always very stressed out.
