i live in a pretty small town, only 25k people and it has been getting cold - into the 20's at night.
someone found a beautiful/tame green iguana in their yard and brought it to an animal hospital. we were unsuccessful at locating anyone with a lost iguana (tried craigslist, local pet stores, animal shelter, a few online lost/found pet resources). i left my contact info with the local reptile friendly shop in case they came across any info on anyone with a missing iguana.
despite that it has been freezing outside and the owner hasn't being going door-to-door and posting signs.... i'm convinced that someone really loved this iguana. it is probably under 5 years old with indicators of decent care and constant handling.
maybe it was stolen and it got away from the thief? maybe something bad happened to the owner?
my gut tells me i must reunite it. it is so sweet, i'm sure someone out there loved him and is experiencing a terrible loss.
any recommendations on how find the owner?
P.S. if the owner can't be found, this iguana is going to be in a great place with us and will have great care/attention.
