Good advice. Iguanas are often very stubborn about trying new foods. Select a few of what Rose suggested, with a couple of leafy greens. Also don't cold-turkey stop the lettuce. Then keep offering the uncomplicated fresh salad until his hunger overcomes his reluctance. It can easily take more than a month of refusals (not eating) before he starts nibbling on his new salad. If he picks out the lettuce, chop it more finely and mix it in.
It's a real test of courage for some owners to bear the long wait without doing anything special to get him to eat.
During this phase, he isn't getting any fluids, so tubbing is the best way to get him to discover drinking. If he waits more than 14 days, he really does need the tubbing so his organs don't start to malfunction due to dehydration.
