I live a life that understands most people are resistant to ideas that don't satisfy their preconceived notions. I bump up against people frequently. An example is that I said to a group of people that Patric Steward is 5'6", and they openly boo'd me without knowledge or even a willingness to check for themselves. Another: We were discussing the history of the Germananic city of Cologne of the 1200's AD. I said the city name is a French word. Some of this group said out loud that it wasn't so, without offering any knowledge. All I could say was I knew it from literature, but that didn't matter.
Yes, I agree with you, BB, my idea is probably useless. But new ideas can lead to new observations. One never knows. I do know that you are not biased toward the status quo, just that I'm not, either.
