Since I cleaned his cage he has been timid and tail whipping

I've had my blue iguana for about 3 months now. Not exactly sure how young he is but pretty young. He eats heartily and seems normal with his basking, sleeping, natural curiosity. I cleaned his cage (not the first time) just a few days ago. Ever since then if I walk next to his cage he gets timid and extends his dewlap. He scurries into a corner and he does not like me. He does not do the same thing to my boyfriend he's fine when he says hi to him in his cage. Iguana has never been happy getting picked up but once I do and lay down or be still and pet his head he will fall asleep on me and not be tense. For the first time trying to pick him up since this last cage cleaning he tail whipped me a few times. Before this last cage cleaning he felt way more comfortable with me now it's worse than when I first brought him home. Any thoughts or ideas as to what I may have done incorrectly or what I can do to make him trust me again? Whenever I clean his cage I put back everything in the same position and areas as it was in before. I try to not disturb his set up.
