Power was out for just a couple days, and I have generators to keep most things running. Not a/c though.
We got power before folks across the street, ran power cords to a couple older neighbors.
Clean up was a mess. Streets still lined with huge piles of debris as pick up for such hasn't started yet. Wonder where they will put it all.
Got cable and internet back two days ago. Still no phone. Got my yard cleaned up in a quickness, debris pile is HUGE. Been helping the old folks across the street the past couple days with their mess. Hot here and they can't do much labor outside.
Stores are starting to restock and open. Went to grocery store today and they have maybe 80-90% of what they stock on hand.
Getting gas is still hit or miss.
So we survived and Irma was really more of an inconvenience than a crisis. Folks down south on the west coast of Florida and in the Keys hit much worse.
Grateful we got lucky.
Italy BB? Food may be great, but I worry about Europe now with the "refugee" problem.
Spent a few years over there - lived in Germany, but traveled extensively, LOVE(d) Italy, not so sure I would want to see it now.
Best of luck to you and with the construction and move.
