As far as the vet goes - I have been to 4 different exotics vets in the area and none seemed very well educated in reptiles. I live in Cedar Rapids IA, there aren't a lot of exotic vets here. The last one I went to (for my Russian Tort) said she refused to see iguanas at all. Besides finding a qualified vet, I can't fathom how I would even get him to one. He wants to mate with me, I definitely can't handle him. He tries to bite my husband when he feeds him and he's not confident handling him anyway. I've asked a few if they can do home visits but no luck, I'm going to have to keep trying.
Great idea about the foam! I have some pool noodles I can attach to his perches to soften the edges. I'm kind of afraid he might eat them though, tbh.
When I say skin and bones, I mean skin and bones for HIM. He's usually quite fat. I've attached a picture. Don't mind the dirty cage, it's kind of hard to get in there and clean properly: http://nasaworld.com/charlie.jpg Here he was last summer for comparison: http://nasaworld.com/charlie2.jpg
Thanks so much for all of your advice, I really appreciate it.
