The solution is when you're ready, to feed what you choose, on your schedule, with foods that he is familiar with. It's hard for iguana parents to do this though. You've just brought him through a close call with starvation and it's got to be a huge relief that he's eating again.
I suggest waiting another month, then impose your schedule on his feeding times. He will probably hold out for His schedule, but you have to wait him out. They (the non-sick ones) always come around if their owners keep it up long enough. Up to a month. Put some of his food on the basking shelf and the rest where you used to put it.
