I would keep the old one close by if possible. I had a iguana a few years ago that grew up sleeping in one of those small dog travel carriers. Even tho she eventually was able to be a free roamed. If she was upset, she would go back to that bag. After she felt better she would come out and do her own thing. I would look at her and her head would be in the bag and her butt would stick out. But she was happy. It's like a security blanket to a child. Hope this helps.
