whats the best way to get your iguana to gain weight? i was at the food chart and it said that whole wheat bread is about 4% fat, will this be the way to go?

to much fat in to short of time can over work the organs- slow and steady with a healthy diet wins the race.
As you can see in my pics above-Cedro arrived very underweight- he gained nearly 10 lbs the first 2 years we had him.
proper heat gradients (hot spot to cool spot) and good UVB are key when it comes to digestion and making good use of the food they eat. Without it they do not break down food or absorb the nutrients in it. Be sure youve got you set up done right and that your feeding a well rounded diet and you will see changes in no time.
If your doing all that and still your igs looking thin, have a fecal sample checked at the vet for parasites.

okay, thank you. i had brought this up prior in a thread, spike's dorsal spikes look like they are getting shorter, can they be regrown?

are they getting shorter or is "she" getting bigger? Most female spikes dont get nearly as tall.
Other things would be possible damage, rubbing them off, or shed getting stuck , killing them off.
Sometimes they grow back, depends where and why they broke off. I would coat them in mineral oil or vaseline 3times a week , working it in at the bass of the spike.
try that a couple months see how they look.

well, spike is a male. =P but they look like they have been breaking from the top and getting shorter.
