Large Dog Crate Cage

I keep my iguana in a large dog crate. The separator that came with it, I use for a ramp for him. This is the place he loves most but I know it's not comfy. What material can I put on it to make it more soft for him? And should I have any concerns with using a Dog crate that's metal with a black coat/finish?

my igs like stuffed animals, pillows and rolled up towels.All easy to wash when soiled.

Your igs going to grow pretty fast though so i would start designing and building a large more permanent enclosure that retains humidity and retire the dog crate for a sun cage outdoors.

You could think of wrapping at least part of it in clear(ish) plastic (like shower curtain) to help keep in heat and humidity.
