If I drop food in front of his good eye,he will bend over to get it, just recently. Before that, it was hand feed only. He tries to pull weeds but half his mouth won't grip well so he doesn't get much. He lives in two trees on my canal and has about 4 other hiding spots in my yard and neighbors yard. I bring him weeds so he gets used to the taste for the future hopefully. |
I can't "put him down". If I took him to the vet it would be to save him. I understand he may die, but there's no need for me to do it at this point. But if he was suffering, that may be different. He hasn't shown signs of suffering. Perhaps having less energy than others is a sign, but it has improved as he has gained weight.
