Thank you for your reply. My confusion lies in that every mention of plantains for iguanas, that I've found, has them listed in with greens. On human food sites, they all say plantain fruits must be cooked, prior to eating. I have fed banana to iguanas, as a treat, many times in the past. I'm wondering if there is any type of toxin, which is why it needs to be cooked for humans, or if it IS close enough to a banana that it can be fed to an iguana without making it sick.
