We've been caring for our son's female iguana since he's been out of the country for the last couple years. She about 3.5 years old, probably about 4 feet long, and has been quite healthy. Her primary diet has been organic baby kale, with some other leafies cabbage mixed in now and again. She also loves the occasional mandarin. |
When our son was home over Christmas, he noticed what he called an abscess below her left eye. He read some on it, finding that these can happen even when someone new is in the house, and attributed it to him being her, as he'd been gone so long.
He's been away now for a week or so, and I've just today looked at this area again. The abscess has grown quite a bit. I tried landing it, to no avail.
She still seems to be eating fine and is have good bms.
I'll try sharing a pic or 2 here.
She has been so healthy, and I trained in a natural healing art, so we haven't yet found her a certified herp vet.
I will appreciate any advise/direction you can give!
