Hi again everyone.. well, I got him eating from a syringe. Different kinds of baby food, lots of water with reptile electrolytes and he is not resisting at all.. He seems genuinely hungry. I even got a few blueberries into him. He is not much of a water lover meaning he rarely stays in the tub for any length of time. But whenever I did put him in there, he would always poop. But now he won't poop in the water at all. He is paper trained but the past 7-8 months he just poops where ever he happens to be at the time... on his rock, on the floor and even on top of his cage. and he was pooping every day pretty much. He hasnt pooped for about a week now. He has perked up quite abit, but now this morning while I was feeding him, he threw up. So I think I may be panicking and overfeeding him.. I was thinking maybe I should just feed him every other day to see if that makes a difference. When we first moved, it was chilly in the room, but now it is really toasty warm and he is not cold so that is not his problem. I am just not liking the fact that the food is going in but not coming out. I know crocodiles need heat on their bellies to digest the food or it will rot in there. Burkely's belly is nice a warm but he still isn't pooping. I know he is old but I want to do everything I can to get him back on track.. I wonder if he is constipated. Shouldn't he go in the warm water if he is? I have always prided myself in being a good and knowledgeable iguana owner and have given tons of advice to other ig owners over the years. Now I feel helpless. |
