I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's illness. I'm sure you're getting all kinds of advice, but please don't give up hope, sweetie. Doctors are not infallible. (After all, I was supposed to kick off several years ago, yet I'm still here.)
My mother died in 2001, and my dad followed her in 2004, so here's my best advice: Savor every moment you have with your mom right now, & don't let anyone infringe on any happiness you two still have together. If possible, record her voice (a videotape is better) immediately. You'll be thankful later; I know I am.
Try to be strong and know that you have plenty of friends standing behind you. Please keep us informed on the situation, & feel free to email me privately any time.
We'll keep you in our hearts.
