Liz is the mother of Alexandria "Alex" Scott. She and her husband Jay spearhead "Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation". Liz made a plate of cookies for the auction part of "the Lemon Ball" fundraiser. The plate sold for $13,000! She appeared on the Today Show recently and made some. You can view the clip at: Liz Scott's $13,000 cookies
Liz & Jay are great - you can't help but like them. Very down-to-earth and sincere and never stuffy! Same for ALSF - ALSF is staffed by only 18 people in extremely modest offices (Jay & Liz don't even have a private office) but they've raised over $25 million for childhood cancer research.
I just got home from 15 hours at this year's telethon in Philadelphia - $891,740 in pledges!!!! What a great event. I'm a little tired but feeling good. CBS3 Telethon
This weekend is "2009 Lemonade Days" so if you're out and see a lemonade stand why not stop by, have a cup and help fight childhood cancer "one cup at a time".
Video's to check out (get tissues ready!):
