Yes, I was in Stratford over the weekend. When I vacation, I try to "fly under the radar".
FYI: bird lovers:
If you are in Stratford and want to feed the swans you can get bags of "swan food" at the refreshment stand where they rent boats. Popcorn is also a favorite - the swans tend to collect near the popcorn vendor (down from the main theatre)! I've even seen one tucked right under his cart hoping for spills. He's quite successful. Please do not feed them bread as they can not digest it properly.
Swans can be very tempermental - and fast! If they hiss back off fast because they will attack! The cygnets are on the river now and getting big so the adults are less testy then they were in May.
I love to walk my dog along the river and he's become blaise about the swans. Unfortunately, it was either too hot or too wet to walk him there this week. Bu if you're in Stratford and see someone walking a very furry grey/black/silver dog along the river - it may be us!
