It sounds lovely, and I think that although it is an 'invented' name, its Shakespearean origins lend it credibility. That said, I am reminded of perdition, and therefore would not consider it myself. I dislike Purdy as a nickname, but Dita is nice. Perda, Pera and Peri are other options.
