: Hermina - It's decent enough, though I prefer Hermione. Pity it's too associated with Harry Potter to be given serious consideration. I wouldn't want to be branded a rabid fan when I haven't been a part of the mania.
: Luana - Luanne is widely held as hickish, and exchanging the E for an A does nothing to diminish this connotation.
: Kaitlin - It's just too ubiquitous. Most people I know have at least one in their family or acquaintance. Kathleen or Catalina are rarer and more elegant, especially the latter.
: Eve - I love this, too. Simple, yet sophisticated. I don't take the negative view of the biblical figure that so many have, as I read the Bible metaphorically rather than literally.
: Elinor - I've grown tired of this. I don't see or hear it much in real life, but it's extremely popular on Internet name boards.
: Claire - Evokes much the same response as Eve, minus the religious aspect.
: Heather - Very dated, and too breathy for my taste.
: Jamia or Jamie - Jamie is a nickname, and Jamia is an acronym and Arabic word meaning 'gathering', based on a quick Google search. Jemima or Jamesina are vasty superior.
: Kara or Cara - I favour the C spelling, but prefer Caroline over both.
